Ashley Greene Wishes She Were Robert Pattinson

Ashley Greene wishes she could trade places with Robert Pattinson.

The Twilight actress admitted that if she could play any character in the hit movie it would be Edward Cullen.

She told Teen magazine: “Edward because everyone is in love with him! I like James and Victoria a lot too.

“Playing the bad guys would be fun because Alice is very sweet, very good and wholesome and whatnot. I think I’d play one of the villain vampires!”

It seems a bit strange that Ashley doesn’t want to step in Kristen Stewart’s shoes and play Bella Swan.

Bella would be our dream role as we would be able to kiss Rob again and again and again.

Long-Awaited Updates

Sorry this post has taken so long! The servers have been acting funny lately.  So this is REALLY long, I’ve been collecting everything for almost a week! There aren’t as many full stories in this post (otherwise it would have been a novel) so you might have to do a bit more clicking around than usual. There will certainly be more soon, this isn’t everything.

Jackson Copies Rob

Jackson Rathbone is copying Robert Pattinson and has decided against a Facebook account.
This could prove to be a wise move as Jackson will be playing Jasper Hale again in New Moon and his fan base will no doubt continue to grow.
Jackson told Seventeen: “I stay away from Facebook and MySpace. Whenever I go out with a friend, they’re like ‘I didn’t know you had a MySpace.’ I don’t have a MySpace.
“There’s actually three MySpaces for Jackson Rathbone. I don’t know who these people are but they’re not me!”
Jackson really misses his friends and family back home.
He says: “I miss Texas so bad. That’s the hard part about being out here in L.A., trying to pursue acting and music and lighting and production and stuff.
“It takes a lot of time out from your personal life, and I can only get back to Texas three times a year at most. It’s tough.”

Robert Pattinson Battles With Kellan Lutz

Robert Pattinson and Kellan Lutz can’t wait to get stuck into New Moon.
All the cast got on like a house on fire during the filming of Twilight and are thrilled they get to reunite for New Moon.
It is thought that Rob will be spending most of his time waiting around as Edward Cullen is hardly in the film.
Kellan recently admitted to Seventeen magazine: “I bet on everything. Everything.
“It’s just like, ‘I bet you I can spin my chair longer.’ Everything, I say ‘I bet you.’
“I love to win.”
Sounds like he’ll be challenging Rob to a few dare battles whilst he’s waiting to shoot his scenes.

Nikki Reed Calls Robert Pattinson ‘Fascinating, Multi-Talented Human Being’

Nikki Reed makes no attempt to hide her praise for “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson, telling 944 Magazine’s Young Hollywood issue, “I respect him a lot. He’s a fascinating, multi-talented human being.” Also sharing some of her other personal issues, the actress goes on to dish about her celebrity crushes and favorite food.

“Pre-surgery Michael Jackson,” Nikki mentions one of her old-school celebrity crushes. “Gregory Peck and Robert Redford in ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'”, she then adds.

Admitting in further interview that she never knows if she would ever drink blood like her vampire character Rosalie Hale in “Twilight,” Nikki tells 944 she indeed loves eating “uncooked steak.”

Up next for Nikki Reed concerning her acting career is reprising her role in the much anticipated “New Moon.” The drama-romance-thriller will also see Robert Pattinson and his on-screen lover Kristen Stewart reprising their roles. The film won’t hit the U.S. theaters until November 20 later this year.

Robert Pattinson is Very Vogue

Gossip Girls has caught up with Rob Pattinson and snagged some delicious photos. P.S.—His hair is growing back! :)
“With his hair slowly but surely growing back, Robert Pattinson was spotted out at the Vogue Dinner hosted by Alexandra Shulman and Nick Jones on Friday night (February 6).
Held at Cecconi’s in London, the “Twilight” hunk sported a charcoal jacket over a navy buttondown shirt with black trousers and Nike’s as he mingled with guests including Tom Sturridge and Andrew Garfield.
And while on this particular night he was out for Vogue, recent chatter tells that Robert is pegged as the April 2009 coverboy for GQ magazine.
Ever the hot property these days, Pattinson and his “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart have been featured on the March cover of Australia’s “Girlfriend” magazine, as well.”

Robert Pattinson is Too Loveable

No one can ever be mad with Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson.
Even when he is late for interviews or photo shoots people forgive him.
A source told J14 magazine: “Rob showed up two hours late to the L.A. photo studio.
“Even though everyone was annoyed, all was forgotten when he uttered in his soft and intoxicating British accent, “I’m so sorry I’m late – I overslept!
“Before walking over to pose for the cameras, Rob quickly grabbed a can of coke just before the bulbs began to flash.
“He was completely gracious the entire time, while cracking jokes about being late.”
Rob isn’t at all diva-ish: “At the end of the shoot, Rob went around and thanked everyone for their time.”

Robert Pattinson’s Attractive Silence

Robert Pattinson thinks he knows why young girls find him so attractive.
It isn’t his hair, or his accent – according to Rob it’s his quietness.
When he was asked by Creme magazine whether he stayed in character during the filming of Twilight he replied: “Well, sort of.
“I mean, I didn’t say much. I thought that would be best – oh no, I’m revealing all my tricks! (Laughs)
“But I thought the best way to do it would be to not say anything to the rest of the cast.
“So, I didn’t talk to any member of the cast about anything but the movie.
“I think that always makes you more attractive if you don’t say anything so I was trying to do that.”

Robert Pattinson Needs A Body Guard

Robert Pattinson needs bodyguards to protect him when he goes out onto the street.
He gets mobbed by fans wherever he goes.
Rob told the LA Times: “It’s kind of like being in some medieval battle (laughs).
“I mean I guess that’s the closest analogy, especially after yesterday. A ton of people ran down the street outside the Apple store.
“I felt like I was literally being charged by Celts (laughs).”
When he was asked how many bodyguards he has when he does big events, Rob replied: “It depends.
“I don’t know how many there were yesterday, but there were like NYPD cops everywhere! It was completely crazy.
“There were four guys just literally carrying me out of the place (laughs). It was quite funny.”

Robert Pattinson’s Complicated Label

Robert Pattinson is too complicated for his Twilight co-stars.
When J-14 asked Nikki Reed (who plays Rosalie Hale in the movie) to describe the Twilight guys in one word each she needed help from Kristen Stewart.
Both girls picked “complicated” for Rob. Nikki said: “There’s more of a story, which I shall not speak of.”
We would have picked “sexy”, “charming” or “divine.”
Nikki said Kellan Lutz was “gorgeous” and Jackson Rathbone was “artsy.”
Bad boy Cam Gigandet is just a “teddy bear” according to the girls.
Poor Taylor Lautner didn’t even get a mention which seems strange.

TV Guide Interview With Sarah Clarke

TVGuide.com: Between Thirteen and Twilight and Trust Me, do you think you’re well prepared for when your own daughter one day becomes a teenager?
Clarke: [Laughs] It’s a freaky prospect! My daughter is only 2, so I’m slowly becoming prepared.
TVGuide.com: Are you on board for the Twilight sequel, New Moon?
Clarke: You know, they still haven’t told me. They’re being so secretive about it. They know I’m doing press for Trust Me, so they haven’t told me anything yet. I think they don’t want anything to get out.
TVGuide.com: Have you read ahead with the other books to see what Bella’s mom gets to do?
Clarke: I have, and I know I’m involved, but the mother is such a strange role, I have to say. My instincts as a mother would never jibe with half the things Renee does.
TVGuide.com: We’d be worried if they did!
Clarke: Even with the first book, I remember reading that the mother was always on the phone, whining. What’s interesting in that? Luckily, Catherine [Hardwicke, who also wrote and directed Thirteen] gave me a lot more fun things to do, and gave us a real relationship. So that’s the big question for the second book, where again the mother is relegated to the phone. I don’t know if they’ll stay true to that.
TVGuide.com: If you as a teenager had to choose between a vampire boy and a werewolf, which way do you think you’d lean?
Clarke: Oh, I’d definitely go vampire. Werewolves are too hairy.
TVGuide.com: But wouldn’t the hickeys be worse?
Clarke: Maybe. But you could wear a turtleneck.

Times Columnist: Tantrums And Tears at Twilight Audition

Tears and arguments broke out Sunday as hundreds of first nations teenagers from all over North America were turned away from a casting call for New Moon, the sequel to last year’s vampiric blockbuster Twilight.
Some of the young people, who had flown in from as far away as Florida, began lining up as early as 5 a.m. at Second Avenue Studios in Vancouver’s Main Street area.
So when casting assistants told the crowd at 12:30 p.m. that no more people would be allowed in the building, the hundreds left outside were heartbroken.
Some even turned on those who had barely made it through, hurling accusations of cutting in line.
Rosanna Razor, 22, was one of the disappointed fans who didn’t get a chance to meet the casting director.
“It sucks,” she said. “I was here since 9 a.m. I came up from Seattle.”
The crowd flooded to the open casting call as a result of ads posted on Craigslist a few weeks ago for “any first nations/aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25” available to film between March and May.
New Moon, based on the second book in the Twilight series, follows the main character Bella and her time spent with friend and Quileute Jacob Black on the La Push reservation in northern Washington.
“This is more than we expected,” said Bim Narine, a casting assistant at Vancouver’s Aikins/Cossey. “It’s definitely a good turnout.”
The fans and aspiring actors in the crowd, which ran all the way down Second Avenue and around the corner of Crowe Street, came clutching copies of New Moon and headshots.
Some, like 17-year-old Jenny Gustafson, wrapped themselves in blankets to fight the cold and ease the jitters.
“I’m from the San Juan Islands near Friday Harbor,” the half-Athabascan teenager said, huddled in a black-and-blue fleece wrap.
Gustafson and her mother, Mary Long, had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. to catch a 6 a.m. ferry.
Even though Gustafson had no previous acting experience, her love for Stephenie Meyer’s series was more than enough motivation for the trek.
“I like any romance novel, and this one was kind of unique because of the forbidden love thing,” she said.
“I thought something would come up and she’d forget about it,” Long laughed at the mention of this teenage craze. “I hate to get up early. But she pushed through.
“Then again, it’s an experience,” she continued. “I told these guys around me who are getting discouraged and worried that, either they’re going to be in it or they’ll say, ‘Hey, I was standing beside that guy!’ So that’s gotta mean something, right?”
Jason Allen, 22, a firefighter from Portland, had some friends who saw the ad and insisted he come up to Vancouver.
He was happy he did.
Just before noon, Allen walked out of the studio with a smile on his face, a piece of white paper in his hand and an audition time scheduled for the afternoon.
“I haven’t even had a chance to look at the script yet!” he said, pointing to the dialogue on the page in his hand, his voice shaking with excitement.
Allen also admitted to not reading the entire series, save for a bit of Twilight.
However, the buzz surrounding the New Moon film—and the thought of taking a vacation from work—was appealing.
“If I get it, that’s great. If not, I still love my job,” he said.
Scripts were only handed out to successful candidates who met casting director Stuart Aikins’ pre-screening requirements.
Although there was some mystery about which movie the casting call was for, the audition text, which blacked out any familiar Twilight names, was still recognizable to fans.
One script was pointed out as being the dialogue between Bella and Embry at the bottom of page 327 in the book.
Razor, who was disappointed about not getting into the studio, said she wanted to be one of the aboriginals to promote the first nations nationality in the movie.
“This is a proud moment for me,” she said. “Native people don’t always get opportunities like this and I thought it would be really cool to be a part of it.”

Times of The Internet: Why Jacob Black is Better For Bella Than Edward

Even though Edward Cullen captured Bella Swan’s heart in Twilight, here are the reasons I think that Jacob Black is a better match for her.
1. He’s tall, dark and handsome. Unlike Edward Cullen, his complexion isn’t the same color as “Plaster of Paris.”
Even though Edward Cullen’s skin glitters like diamonds in the sunlight, his aversion to the sun would likely put a rift in any relationship.
Did I mention that Jacob Black has perfect teeth?
2. Jacob has Bella’s best interest at heart. Bella and Jacob have known each other since they were small children, so he cares more about her than Edward does.
3. Edward’s family is still a bunch of vampires. If you think it’s hard to be a human vegetarian, imagine how difficult it is to be a vegetarian vampire. The very scent of blood could be enough to turn Bella into a dinner feast – in fact, Edward had a difficult time pulling away when he had to remove James’ venom in Twilight, so she should be concerned about being turned into eats.
4. Edward is always trying to pull away. Let’s face it. Relationships can be a real pain in the butt, especially if the object of your affection
is always trying to push you away. Bella deserves more than just a broken heart.
5. Werewolves are cooler. They have better eyesight, hearing and can run freely all day long. Since vampires never sleep being in a relationship with them gets tiresome. A girl needs her ‘beauty rest’ after all.
I, for one, look forward to seeing Jacob Black as a leading man in New Moon. The sequel begins production next month and stars Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black and Kellan Lutz as Emmett Cullen. New Moon has a US theatrical release date of November 20, 2009.

Robert Pattinson’s Exam Success

Robert Pattinson loves proving people wrong.
Thousands of fans thought he couldn’t play Edward Cullen – but he put in such a great performance that he is tipped to be the next Brad Pitt.
Rob also proved his dad wrong when he thought he wouldn’t do well in his exams.
The Twilight actor explained to the Daily Mirror: “I was at a small private school in London, I wasn’t very academic.
“My dad said to me, ‘OK, you might as well leave, since you’re not working very hard’.
“When I told I him wanted to stay on for my A-levels, he said I’d have to pay my own fees, then he’d pay me back if I got good grades.”
Rob put in the work and came out with an A and two Bs – but his father still didn’t pay.
He added: “My dad told me a lot of stories. I would never buy a car from him.”

“I’d describe myself as laid-back and not vain.”

Interviews With Kristen And Rob

I’m in a hotel where the interview will take place. Robert is late, although understandably so. He’s been doing interviews all day, so I try to be patient. Suddenly, the door opens and Robert walks in apologizing with a very thick British accents that makes you melt. He’s tall and thin, he has a very pale skin. He’s wearing jeans and a T-shirt under another shirt. He’s hair is messy and it looks as though he had fallen asleep. He plays with a bottle of coke. When he finally sits down we start out interview…
Was it fun playing a vampire?
I don’t think I’m playing a vampire. I don’t think I even look like one, do I? (laughs) I would’ve loved it if Edward had been the typical vampire we’re all familiar with, because the vampires in Twilight are too weird. They’re very pale, they have strange eyes, but they’re so normal and they can live in the real world without rasing any suspicions. On the other hand, I was very fun. I had to do action sequences and I had to climb trees (laughs).
You mention real vampires, are you a fan of vampire movies?
Well, in this film I’m not scary. I’m not like Nosferatu. I want to be that kind of vampire, that would be cool. But as you know, this film is not about vampire clichés, so I played him like he had a disease, like you’re not the same person after someone bites you because you wake up three days later wanting to kill people. You’re a thousand times stronger and faster, and you’re going to live forever and if you think about it, that must be horrible!
What was the hardest part of playing Edward?
Edward has a certain aura that makes people be scared of him instinctively and they don’t know why. I really love that, but I think that’s hard to show on screen so I would imagine him as a lion who was in the jungle surrounded by animals, they know he’s not hunting but they keep their distance. And that was something I really wanted to add to the movie, in fact there’s a scene in which all the birds literally fly away as soon as I walk by, and this gives you the idea. But I think that was the hardest thing to show (he pauses). Well that, and being the most beautiful man in the world! (laughs). But there’s nothing I could do about that.
How did you develope your vampire abilities?
I read you wrote a journal as Edward. Are you planning on publishing that?It wasn’t exactly a journal. I don’t know how it started (laughs) but I hadn’t realized how difficult it was going to be to play Edward until I started reading the script. He’s a very complex character. So I moved to Portland on my own two or three months before filming began and I didn’t do anything but read the script and books to find anything that helped me play him. So I started to write things. I mean, if you really prepare for a role, there’s going to be a moment in which he’s all you can think of. So I did things like little suicide notes. I was a little worrysome actually (bursts out laughing).

It’s 2 o’clock in an exclusive hotel in Beverly Hills where we are interviewing Kristen Stewart. She rushes in. She’s been doing interviews all day. She says hello and it catches my attention that she’s wearing jeans, sneakers, a loose T-shirt and a plaid shirt tied around her waist and not a drop of make up. I didn’t expect her to be so casual since she’s the star of the movie. I notice she’s very nervous. She tells me that it doesn’t matter how many times she’s done inteviews, she doesn’t get used to being the center of attention. We start our interview…
Do you like vampire stories?
I love the themes they represent. They question mortality. I love than in Twilight almost everything is a life or death situation, and then there’s the whole ‘forbidden fruit’ thing. All of that is always present and I love it.
But have you ever been interested in vampires?
I’ve always had a fascination with vampires. In fact, when I was a kid I dressed as Dracula for Halloween. I loved it ’cause I thought I looked so cool.
What do you have in common with her, since she’s an average girl, not popular. Do you relate to her?
Yes, in the sense that I was never one of those girls who goes to the cafeteria and completely rules the school. I completely relate to that part, like you believe you’re not supossed to be the popular girl, you’d rather be someone else, and she’s like that. She can’t understand why everyone is so interested in her. Like everyone has a sort of fixation about her.
And why do you think the world is attracted to a character like Bella?
Bella has an amazing will power. Edward can read minds, but not hers. And in the next books she has a very strong mentality and she tries to protect others. But she’s not aware of that. So when Edward tells her he can’t read her mind she immediatly thinks there’s something wrong with her. And that’s funny about this girl, she doesn’t realize she’s immerse in this fantasy world.
What’s your favorite character in the book?
I like Edward he’s a very interesting character. On the outside he seems very confident, handsome. He’s the ideal man everybody wants. But he’s all alone. All the girls want him because they think he’s perfect, but he’s not.

Crème Magazine: Interview With The Vampire

At Creme we get all the hard jobs and the worst luck. When Twilight went absolutely bananas at the NZ box office we got the chance to run this interview with none other than the hot, hot, HOT Robert Pattinson!
Clearly you and Kristen have great chemistry! Do you think you can cultivate that kind of thing, or is it a case of either you have it or you don’t?
In a way I think you can cultivate it – to an extent. You need to be quite committed to it but definitely from the beginning there was that thing with Kristen and I felt like it was right. On the other hand, if you stay somewhat in character the whole time it eventually starts to rub off.
So you stayed in character?
Well, sort of. I mean, I didn’t say much. I thought that would be best – oh no, I’m revealing all my tricks! (Laughs) But I thought the best way to do it would be to not say anything to the rest of the cast. So, I didn’t talk to any member of the cast about anything but the movie. I think that always makes you more attractive if you don’t say anything so I was trying to do that.
Like Edward, you seem a bit offbeat – do you relate to him on that level?
Yeah, I think I tried to make the character more like that because I get he is supposed to be straight-laced in a lot of ways in the book and I didn’t see how to play that in a way that would seem attractive to people who don’t know about the book.
What do you think it is about this book that has created this phenomenon? It’s more than just a teen obsessive love story…
I think there’s quite a few different things. I think one of the things, the initial appeal, when I first read it when it wasn’t so hyped, I read it and I thought this is weird. It’s like Stephenie Meyer’s fantasy. It seemed like the author thought she was Bella – there are so many things about Edward’s character that was so specific. So in a lot of ways you feel very voyeuristic and that was one of the strange things which put me off it, to be honest, but then when I started doing the job that’s what I liked about it.

Robert Pattinson’s Music Advice

New Moon actor Robert Pattinson has some advice for budding musicians.

He thinks they shouldn’t become obsessed with getting a recording contract.
Rob told Virgin Media: “I don’t think people should look for a contract.
“My sister works so hard to make money and I think it ruins you, I think it’s a lot easier to make money in the acting world, not that it’s easier but there aren’t so many pressures on you.
“You don’t have to be so humble, where in the music industry you have to really bow down to a lot of people to get noticed.”
After the success of Rob’s two tracks on the Twilight soundtrack he could sign a record deal in an instant.
He has promised his fans though that he will concentrate on his acting career and not pursue a music career just yet.

Robert Pattinson’s Roommate Nightmare

Edi plays vampire Laurent in the hit movie.
When Inspire magazine asked Edi which of his costars he would pick if he had to have a roommate he didn’t pick who you would think.
Edi said: “Couldn’t be Kellen because eventually over time I would forget that his genetic code and metabolism is different than most human beings and I would eat all the candy he keeps in his room and end up looking like jabba the hut.
“Living with Rob would probably leave me with insomnia as a result of all the women who would probably be sliding love notes under the door or calling late night and whatnot.
“I would pick Catherine. So we could spend all night writing the next academy award winning script.”

Twilight: Director’s Notebook is being released just in time for the March 21st multi-million copy release of Twilight on DVD.

In three years, Stephenie Meyer has become a worldwide publishing phenomenon. The Twilight Saga’s translation rights have been sold in 39 countries and over 42 million copies have been sold worldwide. The last book in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, sold 1.3 million copies in its first day on-sale, breaking publisher records.

Catherine Hardwicke trained as an architect at the University of Texas, and started in film as a production designer. She designed over 20 films, including Tombstone, Tank Girl, Three Kings, and Vanilla Sky. Hardwicke’s debut as a feature film co-writer and director was the Sundance award winning Thirteen. Made for under $2 million dollars, it garnered an Academy Award-nomination for Holly Hunter. She has since directed Lords of Dogtown, The Nativity Story, and most recently, Twilight.

E! Online: New Moon Maybe: 90210’s AnnaLynne McCord

Another 90210-er may be making a stop in the Twilight zone.
300mccordpattinson2020409
I’m hearing that filmmakers have been considering the idea of casting 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord as Heidi in the upcoming New Moon, the much-anticipated sequel to Twilight.

Heidi isn’t a major character in the book, but McCord definitely has the gorgeous looks to pull it off.

The character is a “fisher” who brings humans to the Volturi vampires to eat. She’s also known as “bait” because of the way she uses her stunning looks to attract humans. In her brief appearance in the book, Bella describes Heidi as having “exceptional, unforgettable” beauty. She has stunning legs, long hair and violet eyes.

Sources tell me McCord has auditioned for the role. “It’s not a big part,” one of the sources said. “Heidi would be more like a cameo.”

McCord should feel pretty comfortable on the set. Her 90210 costar Kellan Lutz—and rumored real-life boyfriend—played Emmett in Twilight and will return for the sequel.

McCord’s rep did not immediately comment nor did a rep for the studio, Summit Entertainment.

Director Chris Weitz is expected to start shooting the flick with Robert Pattinson & Co. next month in Vancouver and Italy with a Nov. 20 release date. Summit has yet to make any major new casting announcements for New Moon. However, as I exclusively reported, Dakota Fanning is in serious talks to play Jane.

Memorable Movie Quotes:

Bella: Are you going to tell me how you stopped the van?
Edward: Yeah. Um… I had an adrenaline rush. It’s very common. You can Google it.

Edward: What did you expect? Coffins and dungeons and moats?
Bella: No, not the moats.

Twilight Movie Trivia

* Kristen Stewart has naturally green eyes. She wears brown contacts for filming to match Bella’s eye color.

* Kellan Lutz intended on keeping his natural curly hair for the role of Emmett Cullen. However, his previous role in “Generation Kill” (2008) required a buzz cut and his hair didn’t grow fast enough for the filming of Twilight (2008).

* Henry Cavill was Stephenie Meyer’s first choice to play Edward. However, but by the time production was to begin, he was 25 years old, and no longer looked the part of a 17-year old. He was then offered the part of Carlisle Cullen but turned it down due to his commitment with “The Tudors” (2007).

* For the role of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson flew from England to director Catherine Hardwicke’s house to audition. There, he and Kristen Stewart, who was already cast as Bella Swan, rehearsed the “Love Scene”/”Meadow Scene” on Hardwicke’s own bed.

* All of the actors playing the Cullens wear topaz-colored contacts.

* Taylor Lautner had to wear a wig for his role as Jacob Black.

* Over 5,000 actors auditioned for the role of Edward.

NOTE: These can also be found on OUR Twilight Movie Page!

Twilight Movie Goofs (I posted all of these because they really interested me!)

* Continuity: While Bella is in the hospital (for the second time) it shows the first shot of her eyes and nose. She has oxygen tubes running to her nose. The tubes are over top of her eyes, but when the camera zooms out the tubes are nowhere near her eyes. Then it zooms back in and the tubes are at her eyes again, and so on.

* Continuity: When Edward drops Bella off at the police station on the way back from Port Angeles, she doesn’t have her bag, which contained the book she picked up from the book store that she uses later on to research the “cold ones”.

* Revealing mistakes: When Charlie gives Bella the mace, he hands her a green can. Green cans are inert and used for training purposes.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The vampires are revealed to sparkle when exposed in the sun. However, when Edward and Bella come to school, he is seen to be wearing sunglasses, an item that would not be necessary if he was trying to avoid the sun. However, it’s clear he is wearing them as a fashion accessory.

* Continuity: When Bella is in the forest to confront Edward on who he is the flap on his right shoulder of the jacket Edward is wearing is buttoned down, in the following scene, unbuttoned, then buttoned again.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Edward is telling Bella how much he could hurt her, his hand on the tree goes from being flat against it, to resting on his fingers and back again. However, in the the books vampires are much faster than humans and Edward could have easily moved his hand without it being seen on film.

* Revealing mistakes: In the scene with Edward and Bella talking in the cafeteria (when she drops the apple and he catches it) it is apparent that he has pit stains. Vampires don’t sweat.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Bella is confronting Edward about being a vampire, there are what appears to be visible bite marks on the left side of his neck. However, these are moles, not bite marks.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: There’s a scene where Edward and Bella are talking in the forest, it’s raining heavily and they are soaking wet. Soon after they are shown talking in another forest location, and appear to be completely dry. This could, however, indicate the passage of time, especially given their change of clothes. It is therefore assumed that their conversation takes place over several days.

* Continuity: It’s been stated many times that the vampires do not change at all, ever. Yet Edward has varying degrees of stubble throughout the film.

* Miscellaneous: In the final credits, “Emmett” is misspelled.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the scene in the garage, Edward asks Rosalie and Esme to put on Bella’s clothing to mislead the tracker. Edward is shown throwing clothes towards Esme. Esme was in the scene for quite a while, getting stuff in the background. She was just out of frame when he actually addressed her.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the garage scene, Rosalie and Emmett are seen putting their belongings in Emmett’s jeep and getting in. In the next shot, the jeep is no longer in the garage, and the two cars being taken are Rosalie’s convertible and Carlisle’s Mercedes. However, the jeep hasn’t left the garage yet – it’s just out of frame in the next shot. Esme takes Rosalie’s convertible which is why it leaves the same time as Carlisle’s Mercedes.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Edward says in the movie that vampires never sleep but when Bella wakes up from sleeping in the hospital he also appears to be sleeping. In fact, he was pretending to sleep in order to appear normal, and to give Bella and her mom privacy to talk.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the very last scene, Victoria turns to leave the balcony overlooking the gazebo where Bella and Edward are dancing, with her hair tied up. As the camera cuts to her leaving down the stairs, her hair can be seen flowing behind her. However, Victoria actually reaches up and pulls out her hair pin just as she reaches the top of the stairs.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the scene where Bella goes to the ballet studio to give herself up for her mother, James the vampire is visible in all of the mirrors. As the legend goes, vampires’ reflections are not supposed to be seen in mirrors. Yet both the movie and books often diverge from traditional vampiric legends, such as mirror reflections, burning in sunlight, wooden stakes, repelling from crosses, and so on.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Charlie takes Bella to her room you see three naked Barbies in her room. One is on her desk under the bulletin board and the other two are on the wall behind her, near the bulletin board. As the movie continues they have disappeared. As Bella makes the room her own with her own items, it is inevitable that she moves things around, including the Barbies.

* Continuity: When Charlie is telling Bella that the security guard had been killed by the “animal,” you can clearly hear that it is raining but neither Bella nor Charlie are getting wet and no rain can be seen.

* Revealing mistakes: Throughout the entire movie the vampires’ contact lenses are clearly visible in close ups. For example, during Bella’s flashback after the car accident, you see a close-up of Edward’s eye – the outer rim of the contacts Robert Pattinson is wearing is distinctly visible.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Edward brings Bella to meet his family, Rosalie (Nikki Reed) is wearing gloves to protect her hands from the shatter-bowl she is holding. However, this could also have been a normal accessory to her outfit, much like a jacket or coat, in an effort to appear human; especially considering the temperature of Forks, Washington.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: After Edward saves Bella from the car crash, she overhears him, Carlisle and Rosalie talking in the hospital. Vampires are usually so fast and low that human ears cannot understand it, but they can also talk quickly and quietly – in this instance there were other people around, thus the reason they were talking “human”.

* Continuity: Throughout the film, dark roots appear and disappear from Rosalie’s hair. This is due to the fact Nikki Reed’s hair is naturally very dark instead of blonde.

* Continuity: When Bella confronts Edward, her red book bag on the left of the screen seems to flip and move around in different shots on the scene.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: James, Laurent and Victoria not noticing the fact Bella was human when they first arrived at the baseball field. Not only would they smell her blood (James in particular, being a tracker) but their enhanced hearing would allow them to hear her heart beating. However, in the books, the three arrive at the baseball field, and are there for a few minutes before the wind blows Bella’s scent to them, alerting them that she is human.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Victoria’s presence going unnoticed at prom. Edward can read minds, Alice can see the future and all of the Cullens have enhanced vampire senses so the chances of her going by unnoticed is highly unlikely. While some have said it is possible that Alice would not be focusing on Victoria and Edward was too preoccupied with Bella to hear Victoria’s thoughts, Edward specifically says to Bella (right after Alice sees James change course) “the woman is still in the area”. Knowing that Victoria was still in Forks, Edward and Alice would certainly still be keeping an eye out for her and since Edward had heard Victoria’s thoughts and voice already, he would know what to listen for. He definitely should have noticed her at the prom, however, if he had noticed her he would have gone after her and that would have diverged from the book too much. Victoria’s purpose at the prom was simply to leave a cliffhanger for the next movie (though it does cause some factual mistakes).

* Revealing mistakes: In the scene with Edward and Bella lying in the grass, you can see Edward’s carotid pulsating. In the ‘Twilight’ books, vampires do have hearts, but they do not beat.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: After Bella is out of the hospital she still wears a leg brace when she is heading to prom. But she doesn’t have any bandage or mark on her right arm from when she was bitten. However, the venom that changes human to vampire heals the body in that process, thus also the skin. There might be a scar, but the wound would certainly be healed well enough for Bella to go without bandages.

* Continuity: In the ballet studio when James breaks Bella’s leg, it looks broken, but at a far away shot, she is holding her leg, and it does not look broken. Later, after Edward falls and she slides away, she moves both of her legs. If it was broken, she would be in too much pain to move it.

* Revealing mistakes: Throughout the film, various vampire’s ears and necks are not paled out, only their faces. Especially in one of the cafeteria scenes, Robert Pattinson’s ears are extremely red.

* Boom mic visible: In scene where Charlie brings the truck back with new tires. The boom mike is visible in the reflection on the front fender of the truck.

* Continuity: In the beginning when Charlie is driving Bella to the house he has his windshield wipers on and its not even raining.

* Continuity: In one of the scenes with Edward’s car, when his car approaches, he has Oregon license plates. As he spins the car around and drives off, the plates appear to be Washington plates.

* Continuity: While at prom dancing under the gazebo, two couples exit to give Edward and Bella privacy. When the camera cuts to a different view, you can see the second couple leaving again.

* Continuity: In the scene where Bella and her friends go down to La Push, Bella, Jacob and his friends all have candy in their hand but in the next scene it’s gone, and then it’s back again.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Jacob confronts Bella at the prom scene she is shown in just her dress. A couple of shots later when Edward cuts in, she has a sweater on. If you watch Edward closely, though, you see him holding her sweater and then he drapes it over her shoulders before turning away from Jacob.

* Crew or equipment visible: When Edward is telling Bella “you better hold on tight, spider monkey” you can see his harness pulling his shirt up.

* Errors in geography: When the girls are in the dress shop you can see two flags in front of the building across the street. One is the American flag and the other is the state flag – it’s Blue with a Yellow symbol. This is Oregon’s flag not Washington’s. Washington’s flag is green with a black and white symbol of George Washington.

* Continuity: When Bella first sits next to Edward in biology and he visibly recoils, there are two samples on their shared desk. Edward nudges one towards her and pulls the other towards himself, but in the next shot, they’re back next to each other in the center of the desk.

* Continuity: In the meadow scene, Edward and Bella are lying very closely together at first, but when the camera angle switches, they are suddenly quite a bit farther apart even though they should have been in the same positions.

* Crew or equipment visible: When Bella first arrives in Forks, she and her father are in the car on their way to the house. In a medium shot you can visibly see a small camera on the windscreen wiper on the left hand side.

* Factual errors: In the scene in the cafeteria with the background of flags, the Kenyan flag (the green, red and black one with a shield) is hung upside down, the black stripe should be the topmost.

* Revealing mistakes: Throughout the movie you can see the vampires’ breath. In the book Edward states they can breathe because it enhances their ability to smell and helps them blend in as ‘normal’, but you would not be able to physically see their breath because they have no actual body warmth.

* Revealing mistakes: When Dr. Cullen is treating Bella in the E.R., the x-ray on the view box behind him is wrong (upper left x-ray). It is an x-ray of the spine of the upper back and it is upside down.

* Revealing mistakes: In the end, when Bella is in the hospital for the second time, Edward leaves lip marks on Bella’s forehead when he kisses her. This is probably due to the makeup, including lipstick, Robert Pattinson is wearing to match the vampires pale complexion.

* Revealing mistakes: In the last close-up of the movie, Edward’s face is close to Bella’s and it is extremely noticeable that his skin is at least 5 shades darker than hers. Vampires are supposed to be the palest of pale.

* Crew or equipment visible: When Bella is in her bedroom and wearing a green shirt, she lifts her arms up for a second to do something and you can clearly see her audio wire on her side under her shirt.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In a scene in the lunch room, Emmett is clearly seen chewing on food. It has been stated time and time again in the books that vampires do not eat, and their food always remained untouched during lunch. (Indeed, Stephenie Meyer mentions on her website that they kept having to redo those scenes because Emmett kept eating.) However, in the book, Edward does mention that he can indeed eat human food, he just doesn’t like the taste of it. He compares this to how humans eat food they don’t like, but pretend to. This could explain why Emmett was “eating” during that scene.

* Continuity: When Edward is lying next to Bella on her bed, moonlight (sunlight reflected off the moon) is coming in through her window and hitting his face, chest, and hand, but they are not sparkling.

* Continuity: When Bella is in the ballet studio, she smacks her head against the wall and begins to bleed; however, when she’s shown in the hospital, her head is not bandaged.

* Continuity: When Alice pitches to both Rosalie (for the 2nd time) & Jasper in the baseball scene, the runner is running from second base before she even throws the ball. Then after both have hit the ball, the runner is seen again just leaving second base.

* Factual errors: In the scene in the cafeteria with the background of flags, the last flag behind Edward is an old Yugoslav flag – the red, white and blue with a red star. The country and the flag do not exist anymore. Furthermore, the Yugoslav flag was blue-white-red; and the red-white-blue was of ex Social Republic of Croatia (republic within Yugoslavia).

* Continuity: There are several cases where Robert Pattinson’s American accent seems to slip into the actor’s native British accent.

* Revealing mistakes: In the scene where Edward is driving Bella to his house to escape from the Tracker (James), he jumps in the bed of the truck and opens the door to climb inside. When he does, you can clearly see it’s his stunt double.

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Edward and Bella are in the car and she says she’s warm enough they both go to touch the button, but you can see an early reaction on Edward pulling himself back a bit before they even show him pulling his hand away. However, in Midnight Sun, when he is about to touch her face for the first time, he pulls away suddenly, thinking that his cold skin might repel her. Given that this was the first time they touched in the movie, his pulling away could actually show his reluctance and his fear that Bella would leave him.

The Parthenon: Twilight saga helps book sales along with raising students’ interest in reading

Entertainment ranging from a wide variety of movies, television and music are recognized each year with glamorous award celebrations, while books only make lists and the few notable ones win a Pulitzer.

The book lists, such as the well-known New York Times Bestsellers List, provide readers insight to books are considered to be the “it” books each time that the list is published. Just because books don’t receive the kind of glamour that other forms of entertainment receive through high-profile celebrations doesn’t mean that the published works of fiction and nonfiction go unnoticed.

It may not have made the top 10 of 2008 in The New York Times Bestsellers List, but the “Twilight” series by Stephenie Meyer swept away millions of readers across the country telling an unconventional tale of vampire love. A recent article by USA Today reported that Meyer’s series sold approximately 22 million copies in 2008.

Darren Jones, general manager of Borders at the Huntington Mall, said that he didn’t have a complete list of the top bestsellers for the store but the most notable sellers were books from the “Twilight” series, especially during the Christmas season.

“I think the entire country was reading Stephanie Meyer,” Jones said.

Empire Books and News general manager Jessica Messinger said that people of many ages would come in to purchase books from Meyer’s series.

As the popularity for Meyer’s series grew and eventually sparked a movie, Marshall University students took notice.

“I see a lot more college students coming in for them than I used to see, and then they also start buying other books,” Messinger said.

Katie Stewart, freshman biomedical science major from Ironton, Ohio, said that she loves to read and tries to read at least one book a month. Stewart said she doesn’t typically keep up with any particular bestseller lists but did read the “Twilight” series and Meyer is currently her favorite author.

“I started reading them after seeing the movie (“Twilight”), and I’m completely into them,” she said.

Eric Stanley, junior forensic chemistry major, said he usually reads multiple books a week or a month, and he has four or five favorite authors. Stanley didn’t acknowledge any particular styles of books he likes to read other than what is generally fiction.

“It’s there, so I read it,” Stanley said.

Stanley is another student who can be counted in to the mass of people who read the Twilight series.

MediaBlvd: Dakota Fanning in ‘Coraline’

MediaBlvd> Has there been any movement on your role in New Moon?

Dakota> Well, it’s not 100% for sure yet that I will be doing it, but it’s definitely not a rumor or anything. It’s definitely a possibility, and something that I’m excited about.

MediaBlvd> Is there anything from the book you would really look forward to playing?

Dakota> I don’t know. I just think the character is what I would be excited about. She’s kind of evil, which something I’ve never done before, and she’s a vampire. It’s really cool, so I really hope that it works out.

MediaBlvd> Do you have any favorite vampire movies?

Dakota> I don’t. The only vampire movie I’ve really seen has been Twilight.

MediaBlvd> What did you think of the film?

Dakota> I am definitely a fan. I’m a big fan of the actors in the film. To be a part of that would really be a great privilege.

MediaBlvd> Have you read all the books?

Dakota> I haven’t read all four yet. I’m working on it. I’m getting there. I’m just about to finish the first one.

MediaBlvd> So, you haven’t actually read New Moon yet?

Dakota> No, not yet.

MediaBlvd> Everyone seems so supportive of you possibly being in the film. Does that make you feel good?

Dakota> It does. I know that Twilight is so sacred to some people, and I know that when they cast certain people, people have their opinions, and that’s their right. It’s very flattering that they think I’d be right for the part, and I hope it works out.

Tuesday Tabloid Tidbits :)

New Post from Kaleb Nation.

The Twilight Guy has added a new post. Read it here. :)

Variety: Eagle Takes “New Moon” In Italy

ROME — “Twilight” sequel “New Moon” has landed its first overseas sale to Italy, where the Chris Weitz-helmed vampire romancer is partly set and will briefly shoot in May.

Eagle Pictures, which released “Twilight” on Italo screens, announced on Tuesday it has re-upped with Summit Ent. for the sequel, specifying that “New Moon” will shoot in the ancient Tuscan city of Volterra in May for two weeks.

In Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling “New Moon” tome, Volterra is the town where the powerful Volturi vampire coven reside. Dakota Fanning is reportedly in talks to play a teen Volturi vamp, while “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are on board.

Shooting on “New Moon” will start in Vancouver in March.

Eagle Pictures, which is owned by Tunisian mogul Tarak Ben Ammar and has close ties with Summit, announced that “New Moon” will be released in Italy on Nov. 20, day-and-date with its Stateside release.

“With ‘New Moon’ we have acquired the most highly anticipated picture of 2009,” boasted Eagle Pictures managing director Mark Lombardo in a statement. “Now our challenge is beat the record set by ‘Twilight’.”

“Twilight” grossed $15 million in Italy, making it the country’s ninth top-grosser in 2008, right after “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and ahead of Matteo Garrone’s “Gomorrah.”

To date “Twilight” has grossed more than $350 million worldwide.

Media Blvd: Solomon Trimble Keeps His Options Open

Although it is unknown if he will reprise his part in the sequel New Moon, Trimble had a great experience on Twilight and would love to continue to be involved with the production. The multi-talented artist recently spoke to MediaBlvd Magazine about fan encounters, writing poetry and being focused enough to keep all of his possibilities for the future open.

I especially like this section:

MediaBlvd> You didn’t have any scenes with Robert Pattinson, but did you get to meet him at all?

Solomon> I didn’t have any scenes with Rob, but I saw some pre-production clips and knew that he was crazy talented. I met Rob twice, but every time we met, he had to pee. I saw him at lunch, one day, on set, and I extended my hand and said, “I’m Solomon. I’m playing Sam,” and he replied, “Sorry, I’ve got to piss.” Some crew member asked me “Did he just snub you?,” and I said, “No, the man has to pee.” The next time I got a chance to talk to him was after the premiere. I was hanging out with Catherine and her whole crew, up on the rooftop of some bar in L.A., and I saw Rob and he was like, “Damn, every time we meet, I’ve got to piss,” and he walked by me. Later that night, we traded phone numbers and I sent him a text saying, “This is Solomon/Sam.” Then, I memorized the number and took it out of my phone because I have a habit of losing my phone when I jog.

Rob never fails to impress me.

Vanessa Hudgens Unlikely To Join New Moon Cast—Yes, we already knew that, but there’s lots more information in this article!

She reportedly auditioned for a role in the forthcoming Twilight sequel, New Moon, but Vanessa Hudgens is unlikely to get the part – for now.

“I’m not sure about [final] casting but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah [Clearwater, a werewolf],” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote both films, explained to PEOPLE at the 61st Annual Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles Saturday night. “But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn’t happen until the third movie.”

See? It’s nothing personal. Plus, reps have denied Hudgens was in consideration for the role.

Rosenberg also offered a few other insider tidbits about the progress of New Moon. “Well, you know Taylor Lautner will be back as Jacob Black. I can tell you the original cast will all be coming back. They’re on set right now, in Vancouver! They’re all up there prepping the movie to start shooting very soon.”

As for other changes in the next installment, Rosenberg said she expected new director Chris Weitz – who replaced the first film’s director, Catherine Hardwicke – to put his expertise and imprint on the second film.

“Chris Weitz directed The Golden Compass, which was a beautiful-looking film,” Rosenberg said. “And I think it’s wonderful we have someone who has worked with CGI animals … that will be a big part of New Moon. I’m delighted we have someone who’s so expert at that.”

Twilight Sequels To Go Torture Porn?

It could mean, in short, that New Moon will be a little bit bloodier than anticipated. Or certainly the Twlight film after that. Is there any filmmaking/distribution outfit with a more pronounced reputation for being deeply in love with arterial gushings? That’s Lionsgate in a nutshell.

So declares Jeff Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere, in response to Sharon Waxman’s report (for which “executives at Lionsgate and Summit declined to comment”) that Lionsgate (home of the Saw, Hostel and Tyler Perry franchises) may be buying Summit Entertainment, including the company’s library and slate, which includes teenage necrophilia phenom franchise Twilight.

But of course, Wells’ “nutshell” definition of Lionsgate is out of date. It’s an open secret that Lionsgate is so desperate to distance itself from its bloody past that the distributor has spent the past year engineering the failure of its remaining genre stock — dumping Midnight Meat Train in rural dollar theaters; taking the ultra-cinematic The Burrowers off its theatrical release schedule entirely; killing Cabin Fever as a theatrical franchise by releasing its Ti West-directed sequel straight to DVD. If anything, in Lionsgate’s hands, the Twilight sequels are likely to go even more tame.

Will New Moon Be A Lionsgate Film?

The Canadian film and television distribution company Lionsgate Entertainment is reportedly in talks to merge with Summit. Lionsgate has already gobbled up several other production facilities and distributors, such as Trimark, Cinepix and Artisan Entertainment. This from

Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are in talks to merge their two companies, according to two people familiar with the negotiations. The plan, if the deal goes through, is for Lionsgate to buy Summit’s library of six films and the rights to the “Twilight” franchise. Early talks last year involved the merger of only the domestic divisions, under the terms of the reported deal. Executives at Lionsgate and Summit declined to comment for this story. But one Lionsgate executive, who declined to speak for attribution, said: “At this time there are no new conversations.” Rumors of a proposed merger have abounded for months, and other executives familiar with the terms said the deal made sense.

Notable films from Lions Gate have included American Psycho, Gods and Monsters, Dogma, Saw, and Fahrenheit 9/11–and Lionsgate is in the works with MGM and Paramount/Viacom to launch a new premium TV channel that will be similar to HBO or Showtime.

Great Falls Tribune: Twilight a satisfying adaptation

One word describes the feeling I got from watching “Twilight” — wow!

Just waiting in line was an event in itself, as I stood among people of all ages excited to see the most anticipated movie of the holiday season. While a friend and I waited in line for a good 45 minutes to be let into the theater, we talked to a few other “Twilight” fans.

It was a diverse group, not just the expected teenage girls, but also mothers, grandmothers, boys and men. Despite all of the differences, the entire group seemed to be buzzing with excitement.

The movie begins when 17-year-old, Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, moves to Forks, Wash., to live with her father, Charlie. On her first day at her new school Bella meets Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson. He’s her biology partner but is not as welcoming as the rest of the student body.

Later she sees him trying to change his schedule so he won’t have any classes with her. When that fails, he disappears for the next couple of weeks. When he comes back, he apologizes for his behavior, but after Bella is almost hit by a car, she becomes suspicious.

After a couple more incidents and the help of an old Native American legend, she figures out Edward is a vampire. Despite this, they fall in love, but soon their relationship is tested when three vampires begin to hunt humans in Cullen’s territory.

The filming was very impressive, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The cast does a nice job of bringing the characters to life. Stewart and Pattinson portray their characters exceptionally well, as does Billy Burke as Charlie, Bella’s father, adding surprising humor.

“Twilight” is tastefully adapted into an impressive movie that will leave viewers and fans satisfied and waiting for the second. It comes out on DVD on March 21.

The next movie installment from Stephenie Meyer’s book series, “New Moon,” is set for release in late 2009 or early 2010.

Blast: Twilight Dawns a New Day for 3 musicians

The Twilight Soundtrack has spent 12 straight weeks in the top 10 (settling currently at #5) and is about to break the record for the longest run in the top 10 since 8 Mile. For some artists included in the soundtrack, this might be old news, but for Sam Bradley, Bobby Long, and Marcus Foster, this could be a career jump starter, and we were lucky enough to talk to all three of them this week about their involvement in the Twilight soundtrack, their music, and their upcoming endeavors.

If you haven’t heard of them, these three Brits are friends and musical collaborators with Rob Pattinson, who performed their songs “Never Think” (co-written by Pattinson and Bradley) and “Let Me Sign” (written by Foster and Long) on the soundtrack.

Eager to get closer to anything Rob, Twilighters have shifted their die-hard gaze towards these three and have accidently stumbled into some really genuinely good music. Now before you listen, be aware that these aren’t the typical musicians you’d expect to gain worldwide attention from a teen phenomenon. We’re talking Tom Waits, Van Morrison, Jeff Buckley inspired music – not anything like the Disney pop Jo Bros or Miley Cyrus hits blaring in teen girls’ ear buds across the country (thank goodness). What makes Twilight so different from most teen phenomenons, and what I believe gives these boys so much hope, is the huge presence of twenty-something, even thirty-something fans that might have already grown up on this type of music. Either way, needless to say, the guys don’t mind the sudden influx of new fans.

“It’s put me on the map that’s for sure,” Long said. “I used to play 5 gigs a week for like 2 people because I always thought it was important to get an education in music and play for like nobody and learn how to play. Now all of a sudden. . .”. Now all of a sudden he has gone from around 50 plays a day on Myspace to around 700, and has girls screaming at his gigs in London – one girl even ran up to kiss him before being asked to leave. Unphased by his new audience, Long described the change: “Well, it’s nice. It’s really nice playing to people but it can be a bit uncomfortable. . . it’s not at the stage like Rob has it, though.”

At this point, it’s a good thing they’ve all witnessed Robert’s rocket to fame and how wild fans can be. “They’re insane,” Long laughed, describing Twilight fans, “but they’re funny and I think they’re aware they’re like that, so they have a sense of humor. But they’re all nice people”. Marcus recognizes how many of his new fans are Twiligthers as well; something hard to hide when they have profile pictures of Rob. “It’s crazy. I get lots of messages every day, it’s quite funny.”

Joking about the vivacity of the Twilight fans, and claiming he would never have too many fans, Sam stated, “if I was to be chased down by fans, that would be a good thing. It would be fun – I reckon I can run faster than them”. The three musicians even have a livejournal community dedicated to them – “land of dreamers”.

Just a year ago, none of them (not even Rob) could have expected they’d be talking about being overwhelmed by fans. Sam, Marcus, and Rob all went to school together in London and met Bobby by playing different venues when he came to London to study and do his music as well. “He was one of the guys playing at an open mic,” Sam said about meeting Bobby, “we looked at each other from across the room, our eyes met . . . and the rest is history”.

While Marcus has been playing for years, both Sam and Bobby have had late starts into musician-dom, not learning the guitar until 17. “It was something that just felt kind of natural,” Bradley said about playing. Long seems to have had a similar beginning: “I was just this shy, lead guitar player in like, grungy bands. . .I only starting singing about a year and a half ago, two years ago”. And thank goodness he did.

Despite their modest start, all three have big plans for the future.

Sam Bradley is in the studio all this week in Vancouver recording and then off to Paris to finish production for the rest of the month where he will meet up with Foster and Long to do back-up vocals.

“I heard about that,” Bobby said in reference to the collaboration in Paris. He didn’t hear it from Sam. “Someone else on Myspace told me”. Oh the wonders of the modern world.

“I just say it out loud and assume he knows it” Sam joked, proving their communication to be only a little strained from Vancouver to London with the help of loyal fans. Fortunately, Sam did e-mail Marcus to ask, and he’s confirmed he’ll be on board if he can get there.

Set on a tight schedule, Bradley has basically a month to get everything done. “I’m so tired, it’s been really good. We’re getting some really good stuff,” Bradley said in reference to the recordings. In addition to Marcus Foster and Bobby Long, Sam’s regular band will be playing on the album, and his sister will be providing some vocals as well. “It’s a mash of people playing, basically . . . everyone connected means something”.

As far as what can be expected on his new album, he stated, “there are lots of new songs, there are also some that have been on the Myspace but they’re different – it’s more professional.” Sam also disclosed that one fan favorite, and Sam’s personal favorite, “Sea Blue” will be appearing on the new album.

While in France, Bradley will also be playing at Kord Unplugged, right in the heart of Paris on February 12th. “It’s going to be really intimate and really, really sexy,” Sam promised of the gig.

Currently working on a demo, Bobby Long is planning a trip to the states in April. This will be a crucial trip for Bobby, considering a great majority of his listeners are from the US (remember, Twilight was biggest here). He’ll also have the chance to meet with industry people and record labels. Arriving in New York on April 12th, he’ll be playing at the Lakeside Lounge April 13th and Arlene’s Grocery on the 14th. After that, he’ll be heading to Los Angeles, where he is still looking for venues: “we’re looking around, we have a few offers in LA but we’re looking for places to play on the 15th 16th and 17th, so if anyone has any ideas. . .”.

If you do have any suggestions – feel free to leave them below in the comment box. Also, according to Sam, he “better be playing” in these gigs as well, so if you’re a fan it could be a great chance to see them both.

As far as New Moon goes, Bobby revealed that there were a few songs that he wrote with Marcus around the same time they wrote “Let Me Sign” that he thinks could be appropriate for the next Twilight installment, if they are asked to contribute. Although they have talked about recording “Let Me Sign” themselves, Bobby and Marcus aren’t exactly how to work it out. “We don’t know whose album we’d put it on. Like, we kind of wrote songs together last year and that was one that we kind of gave to Rob. We preferred the other ones actually . . . maybe Rob can keep that one,” Marcus laughed.

Marcus, hoping to broaden his fan horizon from just Twilighters, will have another song featured in an upcoming movie. Starring Christopher Walken and Sharon Stone, the “Five Dollars a Day” soundtrack will include “Make it Easy”. Foster also has an upcoming gig in Brighton on February 6th, but has had his focus elsewhere for a while: “At the moment I’ve just been doing a lot of recording, and concentrating on that and also I’m trying to get a band together as well so I’ve been kind of waiting to get the right kind of group of people”. All this recording however, does mean he’ll have new songs to upload on his Myspace in the near future. This might come as bad news to all the fans that have grown to love the current songs listed there, but Marcus is excited about the change: “I’m actually quite tired of them at the moment, like, I’m looking forward to changing them in a week or so”.

This summer, all three are hoping to tour the states together. “We had this amazing plan at the start where it was going to be US and go to Vancouver and rehearse and then get a car and then just drive down to America,” Bobby said laughing before revealing the more practical reality: “we’re just trying to get visas”.

The styles of their music vary slightly, as is to be expected with individual endeavors, but their musical collaborations are seamless. Their personalities obviously contribute to their charm, with Sam’s humor, Bobby’s sweetness and Marcus’ general mystery, there’s a strong balance between all three that makes them fascinating to listen to. And then, of course, let’s not forget the accents.

Whether there is more Twilight action to be expected or not, Sam Bradley, Bobby Long, and Marcus Foster are at the dawn of their careers. All three were very adamant about how much they appreciate the support and love they receive from their fans, so if you want to help along the chance that they might be able to tour in your city this summer, the best way to help that along would be to show your support at Bobby’s gigs in New York and Los Angeles this Easter.

Access Hollywood: ‘Twilight’ Stars Confirm Details Of ‘New Moon’

Good news for Twi-hards; judging by the tips “Twilight” stars Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz shared with Access Hollywood about “New Moon” on Thursday night, it sounds like the second installment in the series will remain faithful to Stephenie Meyer’s book.

“I can tell you there’s a yellow Porsche,” Ashley revealed at the premiere of Dakota Fanning’s “Push,” confirming that the vehicle, which played a special role in the “New Moon” book, will be in the movie.

“I can tell you there’s werewolves,” she added coyly. “I think [the details of ‘New Moon’ script are] kind of highly under wraps.”

Ashley, who plays Alice Cullen, the sister of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson’s character, is expected to return alongside Kellan, who plays older brother Emmett Cullen.

“We are both confirmed to be a part of it,” he said before retracting only slightly. “I’m still waiting — crossing fingers.”

Both of the actors said they are thrilled over the return of Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black, a young man/werewolf (and the best friend of Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan), to the franchise.

“I’m so proud of him,” Kellen said of the recent bulk-up Taylor underwent to secure his role in “New Moon.”

But one of their co-stars, Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent, an old-school style vampire in the series, said he actually said he saw Taylor’s transformation as it happened.

“I actually worked out with him,” Edi revealed to Access last night. “We were working out in Australia together and working out across the country, so I saw it happening. I was there on the front lines. He was a little shrimp and he’s somewhat of a man now.”

Edi who will appear in “New Moon,” told Access the film would begin shooting in early spring.

“We start shooting in March in Vancouver and in Italy,” he said.

But whether the cast will include Dakota Fanning, who has repeatedly said she is interested in appearing in “New Moon,” is still up in the air.

“It’s probably too soon to say for sure, but I’m a huge fan,” Dakota said last night.

Awesome Twilight Riddles

Want to have some fun, maybe win a prize, and prove a college professor wrong? Here’s the email we originally received from Lexiconer Julika:

I‘m writing to ask you if it was possible that the Lexicon provided some help with one of my courses. I study Anglophone Literature in Germany and one of my courses asks for a web project in literature. I proposed some sort of riddle/quiz/treasure hunt based on the Twilight saga and anything surrounding it and my lecturer was quite taken by the idea, especially because it’s so current.

We’re usually up for helping out most student projects if we have the time, so we asked for more details and here’s what Julika said:

It took some time, but I finished my project. University obstacles were met and dodged and the riddle can finally get going. Since I will have a small contest in which I’ll give away five t-shirts from WeBook Apparel (http://www.webookapparel.com/), I thought I’d let you know in advance that I will upload and start Twilight Riddle tomorrow around 11 am CET(5:00am EST). The address is http://riddles.juliakniep.de/. At the moment it’s still the “Under Construction” page but that will change come tomorrow… My lecturer has the odd opinion that there won’t be enough people interested. I hope Twilighters can show him.

If Magazine: From the Premiere of Push

Columnists debate which fantasy series reigns supreme.

Since the release of the “Twilight” series, and especially since the movie release, a debate has ensued about which series triumphs over the other, the beloved “Harry Potter” series, or the new contender, “Twilight.” Defending “Harry Potter” is senior Scene editor Allison Proite, and sophomore News editor Breann Schossow will defend her love for Edward Cullen and the other characters of “Twilight.” The Showcase editors,Tara Cegla and Frank Pellegrino, will determine the winner.

“Harry Potter”

The question of which book is better, “Harry Potter” or “Twilight,” has been circulating since “Twilight” hit it big in the past year.

When “Twilight” started gaining momentum and a heavy fan base, many started saying this series was the new “Harry Potter.” I read the books; I was entertained but I don’t think any series of books can compare to the magic of “Harry Potter.”

The fans of “Twilight” love the romance and think that Edward Cullen, the book’s leading man, is the perfect boyfriend, vampire or not. But, there is so much more to “Harry Potter” than a hot guy with a Volvo and sparkly skin.

One of the best aspects of the “Harry Potter” series is watching Harry, Ron and Hermione evolve over the seven books. They go from precocious 11 year olds to daring and talented teenage wizards and witch.

As a reader, it’s so interesting to go back to the first book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” and read Harry’s adventures as a boy wizard and then read the last book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and watch him become an adult and defeat the one wizard who has tormented him his entire life.

The same goes for Ron and Hermione. Watching their relationship go from innocent flirtations and bickering to outward love was an amazingly seamless transition and such an incredible part of the series. I thought it was more interesting to watch them fall in love over the series instead of the two being in love within the first 50 pages.

One of the most creative people that ever existed is “Harry Potter” creator J.K. Rowling. In her seven part series, Rowling created an entire world. Places like Hogwarts, Gringotts, The Burrow and Hogsmeade are also locations that Rowling created for her characters to go and interact. In “Harry Potter” the reader gets completely lost in a world unlike their own. In “Twilight” the reader can get lost in a world like Forks or Seattle. No real imagination needed there.

The “Harry Potter” series also sends its readers messages of respect, love, good versus evil and especially equality. Throughout the series, we are introduced to the word “mudblood.” Hermione is called one because she is not a “full blooded” wizard since she comes from two non-wizard parents. Did Rowling intentionally slip in the message that everyone is equal regardless of where they come from? Yes, she is that much of a genius. She knows that children read her books and can apply her messages to their everyday lives.

But besides the character evolution and the more creative aspect of “Harry Potter,” the fact still remains that everyone can read the series. I’ve had conversations with children, grandparents, college-aged guys and professors about “Harry Potter.” I can’t say the same for “Twilight.” If I even mention “Twilight” in front of a guy, most of them roll their eyes. The “Twilight” series has a much smaller demographic; just girls.

The “Twilight” series is romantic and are entertaining books, but they won’t be remembered like “Harry Potter” will. Fifty years from now, first generation “Harry Potter” lovers will be reading the books to their grandchildren while “Twilight” will be just a couple of books from the past. Sure “Twilight” is all anyone can talk about today, but “Harry Potter” will be talked about as long as there are books to read.

“Twilight”

I remember the first time I heard of the “Twilight” series. It started when a friend informed me she had met someone over the summer who was just like me except for one thing – she loved the new book series by Stephanie Meyer.

Therefore, my friend thought that I was bound to love them too. But I wasn’t so sure because to be honest, vampire love stories had never made my reading list. I was skeptical.

But within the first few chapters, I, like all other “Twilight” fans, was bitten by the content – the impossible love story, the characters of Edward and Bella and of course, the side complications. The course of true love never did run smooth, which makes these books relatable.

I flew through the series, needing to know the ending. Naturally, I believed it had to end well. However, once captured by a series, readers are highly irrational people. The first time that irrationality occurred in my life was caused by the “Harry Potter” series.

However, after finishing the “Twilight” series, I found that I would rather read the four “Twilight” books on repeat (“Twilight,” “New Moon,” “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”) than my childhood favorite, the “Harry Potter” series, for a number of reasons.

First of all, Meyer writes through the perspective of a character at all times, as opposed to the almost omniscient narrator of “Harry Potter.” It was simple for me to fall into “Twilight” through the eyes of Bella.

Up until moving to Forks, Wash., Bella was a typical human being. Her concerns included worrying about her mother and doing well in school, as opposed to Harry Potter, whose experiences up until going to Hogwarts have never been as feasible as the life of the normal human teenager.

While Meyer does bring the unrealistic into Bella’s world with Edward, a vampire, it always seemed more believable to me than Quidditch, invisibility cloaks and Avada Kedavra.

Yes, all of those things appealed to my imagination. But the “Twilight” series appealed to my sense of reality.

Second, the love story between Edward and Bella has captured the hearts of millions of readers. Who can blame them? Meyer gives both characters eloquent lines and a number of opportunities to prove that the way they feel is out of this world but realistic.

Perhaps the best part of this book is the creation of Edward, the character who feels he should be in a nightmare. However, as Bella narrates in the final book, the only place he belongs is in a fairy tale.

Just what many girls want, especially those who grew up with the Disney princesses.

At the same time, Meyer gave Edward a number of swoon-worthy lines that even reached me, Ms. Reasonable. My personal favorite happened in the second book, “New Moon,” when Edward compares the effect of Bella on his life to a meteor.

He says, “My life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars … And then you shot across my sky like a meteor … when you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black … my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything.”

As I pointed out earlier, I’d like to think that I’m too reasonable to swoon, but Meyer’s writing makes Edward into one of the most perfect characters for women to fall in love. He is a perfect gentleman and would prefer to save Bella from his life – all the while breaking his own heart.

Now, for the shallow but notable part. Edward may be one of the most gorgeous characters to leap off the pages of a book, especially in comparison to the star of the “Harry Potter” series. He may be today’s new Mr. Darcy.

It may be terrible for me to turn my back on a childhood favorite, but like a number of readers, I needed a new series to read at a new point of my life.

Due to the popularity that rivals that of the “Harry Potter” series, I’m obviously not the only one.

The Results

Despite Tara’s undying love for Edward Cullen, both editors have to side with Harry Potter on this one. The books create a fantasy world that readers can escape to, unlike the seemingly boring town of Forks. With the movie, “Harry Potter” well depicts the gorgeous castle of Hogwarts and all the wonder of each magical creature and spell.

Also, Frank thinks that the wonderful world of magic can be appreciated on a much deeper level than vampires and werewolves. The idea of anyone digging their fangs into a neck is just too much for us.

Movies Online Interview With Dakota Fanning

MoviesOnline caught up again yesterday with Dakota Fanning at the Los Angeles press day for her new movie, “Coraline,” and asked her if she had any more news on her upcoming role in the Twilight sequel, “New Moon.” Dakota is a fabulous person and we really appreciated her time. Here’s what she had to tell us:

MoviesOnline: Speaking of roles, can you talk a little bit about Twilight and the reports that you’ve signed on for New Moon? Have you sealed the deal yet?

Dakota: It’s not 100% yet set in stone but it’s definitely not like totally untrue or a rumor or anything. It’s definitely a possibility and I think it would be really, really fun to be a part of. I’m a big fan of the cast and to join them would be a really great honor and I really hope that it works out and I hope I can give you a definite answer soon.

MoviesOnline: What is it about it that you’re looking forward to most?

Dakota: I think just playing an evil vampire. That’s really cool. So, if I got to do it, that would be probably the most fun part.

MoviesOnline: When you consider roles like Cassie in “Push,” or Coraline, and now Jane in “New Moon,” is there a common theme or something that attracts you to all of them? Is it the complexity of the character or the opportunity to grow as an actor?

Dakota: I think that they’re just different from each other and they’re different kinds of films and, you know, I like to kind of always keep myself on the edge of my seat of what I’m going to do next and do something that I’ve never done before and something that maybe I’ve always wanted to do. I think it’s hard to say how you plan out what you want to do. I think you just know it when it comes to you.

MoviesOnline: Has there been a role you’ve read in the scripts you’re being sent now that you wanted to do but maybe your mom thought was a little too old for you?

Dakota: No, there hasn’t been so far.

MoviesOnline: Are you picking roles that are appropriate for your age or are you trying to pick ones that are older?

Dakota: No. I mean, I think that everything that I’ve kind of been drawn to has been appropriate and I’ve never had an argument with my mom about it or anything. We’re always on the same page.

MoviesOnline: And that would apply to the Twilight sequel, “New Moon”?

Dakota: Yes, it would. Yeah.

MoviesOnline: You seem to be transitioning so easily from being a child actor to being a young adult actress. Why do you think that has happened so easily for you?

Dakota: I think if you really want it badly enough and you really want it for yourself, it’s you wanting it, I think that you’ll be able to do it. And for me, I don’t think you can take it too seriously either and too technically, like “Oh my God, I’m going to transition from this month to this month and I’m going to do this movie.” I think what you’re drawn to, like the things that I’m drawn to, reflect the age I am and the maturity that I have, and I think that you just have to be very natural about it. I really want this so badly and I want to do this forever and I think that’s why I’m able to keep going because I just never want to stop. I don’t ever see myself not doing this.

MTV: Dakota Fanning Talks New Moon, Robert Pattinson

With two films opening next weekend, Dakota Fanning’s life is pretty crazy these days. And as soon as she signs on the “Twilight” dotted line, she knows it’s going to get even more insane.

“I know that a lot of people know about it,” the soon-to-be-15-year-old star of “Push” and “Coraline” told MTV News on Friday (January 30), referring to her ongoing negotiations to join “New Moon” as Jane. “I’m glad that people are excited about me possibly being in it. That’s so nice!”

What’s nice for Twilighters is the thought of the critically praised child star bringing her considerable talents to their beloved franchise — a deal that she told us was looking quite good at the moment. “I wouldn’t say it’s 100 percent, but it’s definitely, obviously a possibility and something that would be really cool,” exclaimed the star of such blockbusters as “War of the Worlds” and “Man of Fire.” “I really hope it works out.”

The high-profile sequel would mark a huge departure from Fanning’s typical roles, casting her as a sadistic Volturi guard who has the power to inflict immense pain on those who cross her. “It’s definitely something that I look forward to,” she said. “I think you have to do all kinds [of roles], and eventually I am going to be the person you hate in a movie. And that’s the fun thing about acting: You can be sweet and be mean at the same time in different films.”

Explaining why she’d be a good fit for Jane, Dakota added: “We’re both pale. … I don’t think they’d have to put a lot of makeup on me if it works out. I’m pretty pale as it is.”

Fanning also revealed that while she hasn’t read all of Stephenie Meyer’s novels yet, it is her love for Catherine Hardwicke’s film that makes her want to join “New Moon” and take her own character into the franchise’s future movies. “I haven’t read all of them,” she explained. “But I have seen the film, and I’m a very big fan of the cast. I love all of them. I would look forward to getting to work with them.”

And, naturally, since Dakota is a teenage female, we couldn’t resist asking the obvious question: If the actress shot a scene opposite heartthrob Robert Pattinson, could she keep herself under control?

“He is very, very cute,” she giggled. “But I’m sure I would be.

“The part that I play gets to interact with a lot of the characters, so that would be cool,” Fanning added. “[The Volturi] are kind of mean. I think it would be definitely a different part than I’ve ever played — and I’d get to be a little evil for once.”

EW.com: Twilight Stars Talk New Moon

Summit Entertainment’s newest film, Push — starring Dakota Fanning (pictured) — may have been the main event at its premiere last night in Los Angeles. But the studio still trotted out several Twilight actors to walk the red carpet, and the upcoming sequel New Moon was definitely on everyone’s mind — including whether Fanning would slip on evil Jane’s fangs. “Dakota Fanning would be great as Jane,” said Ashley Green (goodie vamp Alice Cullen). “I really hope that rumor becomes reality.” Fanning, however, said she wasn’t quite ready to bite. “I think it is too soon to say for sure whether I will or won’t be in [New Moon],” she told EW.com. “But it would be really cool to do it. I am a very big fan of the books. I read them all and Jane is an interesting part. We haven’t really sat down and talked about it. So we will see. It was a good experience working with Summit. I guess I now have an in at the company.”

Meanwhile, Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen) told EW.com that much like future werewolf Taylor Lautner, he’s been hitting the gym in preparation for the April shoot. “Bring on the wolves,” grinned Lutz. “Emmett can take ’em.” Lutz also says he’s read the New Moon script, and it’s “amazing.” Fellow Cullen clan member Greene also said she’d just gotten her hands on the script. “I felt like a spy reading it,” she said. “It does come very close to the tone and the events that are in book 2. There are a couple of things that were changed which I think make it more interesting for the visual medium but nothing that will upset fans of the books. I think it is safe to say that it will make everyone happy.”

Perhaps there’s a little Cullen clan favoritism going on at Summit, however, since actors Rachelle Lefevre and Edi Gathegi — i.e. members of the Bella-and-Edward-hating vamp clan — both said they hadn’t seen the New Moon screenplay yet. “They are guarding the script like it is gold,” said Lefevre, who added she’s already planning how to get into the mindset of the vengeful Victoria: “I have to figure out how to channel that much hatred and grief healthily because that is a pretty dark place to go.” There may be another reason, meanwhile, that Gathegi’s in the dark on New Moon: He recently told producers he’d signed on for a spring Broadway production of the August Wilson play Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. “When I told [Summit] I was going to the stage,” said Gathegi, “they said, ‘No you’re not. We need you.’ And I said, ‘Cool. Let’s try to do both.’ We start the play in February and go until June. They are in, like, day 3 of negotiations to figure out if I can do both.” But don’t worry; Gathegi says he’s committed to playing Laurent. “Worst case scenario,” he says, “I get to hang out with my vamp friends and be in what is destined to be a huge movie released [on] Nov. 20.”

MSNBC: Twilight Stars Spill New Moon Details

Good news for Twi-hards; judging by the tips “Twilight” stars Ashley Greene and Kellen Lutz shared with Access Hollywood about “New Moon” on Thursday night, it sounds like the second installment in the series will remain faithful to Stephenie Meyer’s book.

“I can tell you there’s a yellow Porsche,” Greene revealed at the premiere of Dakota Fanning’s “Push,” confirming that the vehicle, which plays a special role in the “New Moon” book, will be in the movie.

“I can tell you there’s werewolves,” she added coyly. “I think (the details of ‘New Moon’ script are) kind of highly under wraps.”

Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, the sister of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson’s character, is expected to return alongside Lutz, who plays older brother Emmett Cullen.

“We are both confirmed to be a part of it,” he said before retracting only slightly. “I’m still waiting — crossing fingers.”

Both actors said they are thrilled over the return of Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black, a young man/werewolf (and the best friend of Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan), to the franchise.

“I’m so proud of him,” Lutz said of the recent bulk-up Lautner underwent to secure his role in “New Moon.”

But one of their co-stars, Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent, an old-school style vampire in the series, said he actually said he saw Lautner’s transformation as it happened.

“I actually worked out with him,” Gathegi revealed to Access last night. “We were working out in Australia together and working out across the country, so I saw it happening. I was there on the front lines. He was a little shrimp and he’s somewhat of a man now.”

Gathegi who will appear in “New Moon,” told Access the film would begin shooting in early spring.

“We start shooting in March in Vancouver and in Italy,” he said.

People: Dakota Fanning Says Twilight Sequel is “Definitely a possibility”

It’s (almost!) official: Dakota Fanning may soon be joining the Twilight cast as a villainous vampire.

“It’s not 100 percent yet set in stone but it’s definitely not totally untrue or a rumor,” the actress, 14, said about her role in the film’s sequel New Moon while promoting her upcoming animated film Coraline Friday in Los Angeles. “It’s definitely a possibility and I think it would be really, really fun to be a part of.”

Fanning, according to a previous report, will join the film’s returning stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner onscreen to play Jane, a petite yet powerful vampire able to inflict pain.

“I think just playing an evil vampire is really cool,” she says. “If I got to do [New Moon], that’d probably be the most fun part.”

As for her future costars, “I’m a big fan of the cast. To join it would be a really great honor and I really hope that it works out,” she says.

Home Media Magazine: Camping Out for Twilight

Actor Edi Gathegi, one of the vampires in Summit Entertainment’s hit Twilight, knows what he’ll be doing Friday night, March 20.

“I’m gonna be there at midnight with everyone else waiting for the DVD,” Gathegi said at Summit’s Push premiere party Jan. 29. “We’re gonna make it an old-fashioned slumber party … I think it’s genius what Summit is doing. A large part of our audience is teenagers, and every one of them will be there.”

In a nod to those repeat, young, female viewers who helped Twilight bring in $185 million at the domestic box office ($324 million worldwide), Summit will be making an event out of its DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of the film, with midnight release parties nationwide.

“There wasn’t a lot in the way of history to compare with on how Twilight would perform at the box office,” said Steve Nickerson, president of Summit Home Entertainment, pointing to Mean Girls and Sex and the City as the only comparable gauges. “With the DVD, we knew if we stuck with a Tuesday we knew there were going to be fans who couldn’t get it right when it was available. We said we had to do a Saturday (March 21) release date.”

Nickerson added that a bare bones, single-DVD version is meant for rental, with the two-disc special edition ($32.99) packed with bonus features to appeal to the repeat viewers.

Sharp-eyed fans of the movie will notice that some of the special effects have been beefed up and retouched just for the DVD and Blu-ray releases.

Extras include extended and deleted scenes, music videos, a commentary, a Comic-Con featurette, and a seven-part making-of documentary. Bonuses— such as a cell phone skin — will vary depending on the retailer.

The Blu-ray Disc version comes to retail at $34.99, and will be available only at Best Buy and Target on the release date, Nickerson noted. All retailers will have access to the Blu-ray on May 5, he said.

“We had to focus on content they hadn’t seen,” Nickerson said of the bonus features, adding that gift set verions would appear as well. “All of the different value-added material is very fan specific. Fans of [novelist] Stephenie Meyer will find new things, and those who’ve never read the books will want to.”

Nickerson said Summit is letting retailers decide how they want to bow the release, but the studio is working with individual retailers on ideas for midnight parties. The current Twilight Web site will feature a store locator for fans looking to pick up their copy at 12:01 a.m.

“Every department store, Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, is having a different (promotion) and different versions of the DVD (slipcovers),” said Twilight actor Kellan Lutz. “I can’t wait to see how it works out. It’s brilliant what Summit has decided to do with it.”

Today is Rachelle Lefevre’s birthday!

TheImproper.com: Robert Pattinson: I’m realy not that interesting.

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson is the object of obsession for millions of young fans around the globe, but the modest actor doesn’t understand all the hype.

“Honestly, I’m not that interesting,” says Rob, 22. In his spare time, he prefers low-key activities to going out. “I watch movies, I read, I play all kinds of music.”

Pattinson, who plays the guitar and piano and composes music, has been relaxing in his hometown of London since Dec. 22, where he has been spotted playing small gigs on the local music scene.

In March, Rob’s free time will disappear, when he starts shooting New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. New Moon will be filmed in Vancouver and Italy, and will be produced on an aggressive schedule, shooting back-to-back with Eclipse, the third installment in the Twi book series.

Since Twilight morphed into a box-office juggernaut, Rob has become one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood—a role the private British hunk is not altogether comfortable with.

“I’ve been getting recognized since the day I finished shooting [Twilight],” he says. “It’s crazy. In L.A., someone spots me almost every single day.” The paparazzi’s sudden obsession with Rob is part of the reason he prefers hanging out in London when he’s not working. There, Rob is much less of a paparazzi target than in the U.S., where his fan base has grown enormously over the past few months.

“I’ve been uncomfortable in crowds my whole life,” he says. “I’ve always felt that everyone is looking at me,” he laughs. “I could be in a supermarket and have a full-on panic attack when there’s no one else there. And this was even like five years ago, when nobody knew who I was!”

Hollywood superstardom is something the single Rob will have to get used to for at least the next few years, when the Twilight machine continues to rage on. Meanwhile, the 6’1″ heartthrob has other projects he’ll be promoting. On March 27, his indie flick Little Ashes (which he did before Twilight) will debut in theaters. In the artsy film, Pattinson portrays the eccentric Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dali–just the kind of meaty role he relishes.

Rob, who is very serious about being a good actor, may one day branch out with his own production company. Pattinson, who has already written several scripts, is leery of the money-obsessed Hollywood film industry.

“I don’t like the way the film industry is,” he says. “If you come with a good script and then it goes to the studios and gets financing, it all gets changed because they want to make money. And it’s like, how do you know if it’s going to make money or not? All you’re doing is making it generic when you do that, and making it generic is no guarantee that it’s going to make money, either.”

Given Rob’s talent and increasing star power, it’s foreseeable he may one day be able to make the kinds of films he envisions. “The only way to [do] that is to take risks,” he says. “And you need to be able to trust people. So you get a company together with people you know are good and you know work hard and you can make good stuff. That’s kind of what I want to do.”

LXTV–Interview With Two Vampires (The Cullens from Twilight)

Nothing says cult favorite like the Twilight series. Roth Cornet sits down the film’s Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, who play the vampire duo, Alice and Emmett Cullen. Hollyscoop: Justin Timberlake, Rob Pattinson, Zac Efron to Star In New Movie

I don’t know about you guys, but this might be one of the most exciting things I’ve ever heard.

Girls of every age will automatically love this movie. We don’t even need to tell you the storyline yet. Because the hook is that Justin Timberlake, Rob Pattinson, and Zac Efron are all in the movie. That’s one smart casting director.

Rumor has it the three heartthrobs will be cast members in the upcoming movie Ohio, which is based on the 1970 murders of anti-Vietnam War protesters at Kent State University.

A little dark, no? The only one of those three we could definitely see in the movie is Rob Pattinson, thanks to Twilight. And maybe that’s what the casting director thought too. Because word on the street is that Rob’s been asked to play the lead role. Justin and Zac, who are definitely the bigger stars in the grand scheme of things, would play second fiddle to Rob.

An insider reports to Star magazine, “Everyone in the industry is shocked that Rob is already getting such big roles. Zac and Justin have been working for a lot longer than he has. There is a bit of jealousy there. Zac’s people want him to have the lead. And Justin’s people have asked that he get a lot of screen time.”

So it’s not just the actresses who get into catfights! Rob may have been around the block as many times as Zac, and certainly JT, but he definitely is the best actor of the three. Sometimes it’s not about the name either! There’s something about having a lesser-known actor playing a lead role sometimes that makes the movie more exciting and less predictable. We’ll just have to wait and see if Rob takes the lead, and if JT and Zac can put their pride aside to take the smaller roles for the sake of making a good movie!

Deadline Hollywood Daily: Kristen’s New Project?

s for Woods, who’s quite a handful, he’s producing and directing the feature An American Girl with Gersh client and Twilight star Kristen Stewart attached to star. “She said it was the best thing she’s ever read,” an insider told me. I hear that CAA’s Chris Andrews labored to get it made for Woods, but its Iraq element makes it difficult. In December, after Gersh’s Ken Kaplan set up a meeting between Woods and Stewart, Jimmy suddenly asked to be Kaplan’s client.

Robert Pattinson doesn’t like the film industry.

PopEater Interview With Peter Facinelli

Peter’s expecting a new family member!

If ‘Twilight’ actor Peter Facinelli had to choose between attending an exclusive premiere or staying at home with his wife Jennie Garth and their three daughters, he’d pick the latter.
“I am not a big, ‘Look at me’ person, so I don’t go to a lot of premieres. I am more of a family guy who stays at home with my kids. I’m more known as being the soccer dad,” Facinelli exclusively told PopEater.
Family life is important for both Facinelli and Garth, who met in 1995 while filming the TV movie ‘An Unfinished Affair’ and married in 2001. The couple has three daughters together: Luca Bella (11), Lola Ray (6) and Fiona Eve (2).
Facinelli, who grew up with three sisters, is not fazed by living with a household of women again. “I have three little girls and one big girl,” he joked. “I have been surrounded by women my whole life. Yeah, there is a lot of estrogen in the house, but I enjoy it,” he said.
And there might be more children on the way. “Jennie tends to get her way, but it is a debate that’s going on right now,” he said. “Honestly, my wife wants a boy, [but] to me, it doesn’t matter. At first, I wanted a boy, but now I have three beautiful daughters, who are important to me,” Facinelli said.
“It’s two fold. When you’re a father, it’s extremely painful because every time they go out of the house, you worry about them. I can’t imagine having to worry about one more person because I am already worried enough… but that being said, never say never,” he added.

Rob Pattinson’s Acting Embarrassment

Robert Pattinson is “embarrassed” to admit he’s an actor.

The British star – who plays hunky vampire Edward Cullen in the recent Twilight film and its upcoming sequel New Moon (it has a tentative release date of November 20, 2009) – admits he lies about his profession in case people think he’s cheesy.

Pattinson explains, “Acting is something I’m very serious about, and that’s why I chose it

“[But] I’m still embarrassed to say I’m an actor because it’s kinda cheesy, so I prefer to say I do something else.

“I don’t like the word ‘acting’. I prefer the word ‘creating,’ because I want to build a character with an idea that turns into something that people will remember.

“In every job that I’ve done, I’ve put something of my life into it, I try to add my life into the movie. Every period of my life in which I’ve played a different character, I’ve been a different person.”

Taylor Lautner Beefs Up For New Moon

Taylor Lautner knows that he has big shoes to fill when he reprises his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight sequel New Moon.

The 16 year old actor steps in as a leading man in the upcoming movie that begins production in March 2009.

Taylor has been spending a lot of time and doing a lot of hard work to make sure that he fits the role.

Lautner admitted, “I’ve been working hard for eight or nine months.”

Not that long ago, Lautner was just a run of the mill teen, but since he started training at the gym, he’s credited his hard work to gaining “26 pounds of muscle.”

It comes as no surprise that Taylor Lautner didn’t want to give up the role of Jacob in New Moon. Of his character, Taylor told M magazine, “He gets more in-depth in the rest of the Twilight series – when he turns into a werewolf, he has two separate personalities. When he’s himself, he’s this nice, outgoing guy who Bella loves, but then he gets very intense.”

Taylor is no stranger to hard work and physical fitness. He admitted that martial arts have been his secret passion since he was a young boy.

Lautner said, “I started when I was six and took it very seriously, training for hours each week. But when I turned 13, I realized that acting was what I really wanted to do. I miss it, and when I have time, I train at my house to keep up the skill.”

Camps are already split on whether or not Taylor Lautner will one-up Robert Pattinson, who plays the part of Edward Cullen in Twilight and New Moon. Taylor steps in as a lead character in the sequel and could give RPattz a run for his money when he takes the spotlight.

Twilight fans have wanted more of Robert Pattinson — and now they’ve got it! Shirtless pictures from the actor’s past
as a teen model have surfaced. “He was painfully shy and incredibly polite,” photographer John-Paul Pietrus, who shot Robert in 2003 for a spread that’s appeared in the South China Morning Post magazine, tells
Life & Style. “He was a bit nervous too because I had him in some pictures with a girl. The shoot was based on swimwear from the 1930s. He had his shirt off, so some skin might have made him nervous.”

E! Online Talks New Moon Soundtrack!

The new director, Chris Weitz, has been sending out signals that he may be open to a more experimental soundtrack than his predecessor. That could mean songs that sparkle even more than the movie’s vampires when they get caught in the sun.

“I think that might be the way it’s going,” says Marisa Baldi, West Coast partner for Zync, a music brokerage that funneled two songs onto the Twilight soundtrack. “I get the vibe that the guy is a little more into being surprised…everything is really open, and he wants to hear a lot of cool music.”

Robert Pattinson as Salvador Dali

Back in October of 2007, when Robert Pattinson signed on to play Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, he was merely Cedric Diggory, the slain cutey from the Potter series. Now he’s the vampire hottie of Twilight, and is gearing up to make all the young vamp lovers squee. But he’s also going to show us a saucy side of Dali next year, and to the right you can get a glimpse of what that will be like, courtesy of EW. (And more over at MTV.)

Little Ashes focuses on the relationship between Dali and the Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca. Dali swore that Lorca’s lust for him never became physical, but screenwriter Philippa Goslett’s take on the relationship is much steamier, insisting that they did consummate the relationship in some way.

There has got to be something in the water over at Hogwarts, or something in the air on the sets of darker teen fare. Rather than sticking with fluffy musicals or succumbing to celebrity, these guys are branching out and really challenging themselves. That’s refreshing to see.

But back to Mr. Salvador: Do you buy Pattinson as Dali?

Collider: Exclusive Video Interviews with Edi Gathegi, Rachelle Lefevre, Ashley Greene, and Kellan Lutz

Anyhow, while on the red carpet tonight I managed to interview a number of people. And even though I’d love to post all of them tonight…I knew what the most important interviews were and it’s with the cast of “Twilight”.

As most of you know, the second book in the series is called “New Moon” and it’s scheduled for release this November. But what might surprise all of you is…they haven’t started filming yet! Yup, Summit Entertainment is walking the difficult path of trying to make a movie with a lot of special effects and release it in the same year with little time for post production. While this is definitely going to be a challenge, it can be done. It’s called overtime. And with the money they made off “Twilight”, I think they can afford it.

But let’s get back to why you’re here.

As I said, I interviewed a few of the cast tonight and they all spoke about “New Moon”. I asked them if they’d read the script, when they were shooting the movie, where they were shooting, what were they looking forward to film, what has this experience been like and a lot more.

Trust me, if you’re a fan of “Twilight” you’ll really love these interviews as it gives you an update as to where each of them are right now and what’s on the horizon.

So enough of my words…watch the interviews! And at the very bottom of this article are some links to our previous “Twilight” coverage from the press junket of the first film.

ET: Stars Talk New Moon At Push Premiere

Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans and Djimon Hounsou walked the red carpet Thursday night for the big Hollywood premiere of their action-thriller, ‘Push,’ and tongues were also wagging over the possibility that Dakota may star in the ‘Twilight’ sequel, ‘New Moon.’

“It would be so neat if it worked out, I’m a really big fan,” Dakota says about being a part of ‘New Moon.’ “It’s probably too soon to say for sure, but it would be really cool.”

‘Twilight’ stars Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene tell ET they would really like to work with the young star.

“I hope she does [‘New Moon’] she’s a brilliant actress,” Kellan says — Ashley adds: “Hopefully she will be involved in the second one. I think she’s an amazing little actress.”

Former ‘War of the Worlds’ star Dakota returns to the sci-fi genre on February 6 with ‘Push,’ delving into the deadly world of psychic espionage in which Dakota’s clairvoyant must team up with Chris and his telekinetic powers against Djimon and his shady government agency, The Division — who is genetically transforming citizens into an army of psychic warriors and brutally disposing of those unwilling to participate.

The Envelope: Robert Pattinson’s ‘Ashes,’ Kristen Stewart’s ‘Adventureland’ to open same day!

Here’s the latest buzz on Regent Releasing’s “Little Ashes,” Robert Pattinson’s new film that opens March 27.

Coincidentally, that’s the same day his “Twilight” costar Kristen Stewart’s new indie comedy, “Adventureland,” opens.

Which movie will you go see first? I think I can guess.

But this really is movie-marketing crossover genius. Now the “Twilight” stars can promote both their new films AND their new joint movie, “New Moon,” which they will be shooting.

Ladies and gents, we have a win-win-win situation.

There’s a lot more to the story here!

Los Altos Town Crier: Twilight invokes multiple genres to serve its romance

Egan Junior High School seventh-grader Katherine Foley demystifies her demographic’s cultish reaction to a recent book-to-movie hit.

It’s a best-selling series, even more popular than Harry Potter. It’s a young-adult book about vampires, but all ages have read it. It’s romantic, with forbidden lovers, a kiss of death and a mystery for a human girl to solve.

The love surrounding Edward and Bella, two very different characters, carries the book and the movie “Twilight” (Little, Brown Young Readers, 2006), a story about a vampire and girl who have fallen – foolishly – in love.

The “Twilight” craze picked up speed as the online world anticipated the movie, which premiered in November. Soon, everyone was reading the books, excited about this new fad.

Stephenie Meyer’s book serves excellent romance with a side of horror. As movie trailers hit the Web, fans were quite aware of the changes – is Rosalie (supposedly the most beautiful vampire) pretty enough? Is Edward amazing enough, and where, pray tell, is that velvet voice of his that we’ve all fallen in love with?

Both the text and the film drew fervent response, with crowds of people lining up to buy something – T-shirts, tickets for the film or the book itself. “Twilight” book fanatics anticipated the upcoming movie with foaming mouths – would it be enough to meet their expectations?

On a Thursday night in November, close to midnight, a large turnout of screaming girls awaited the premiere. As the movie prepared to start, the entire auditorium was screaming. “Twilight” was even more anticipated than the book “Breaking Dawn,” Meyer’s fourth in the series, released last year.

As the movie progressed, people were more than willing to compare the translation from page to screen. There’s the all-famous glare, as Edward – the main vampire and hottie in every scene – glowers at Bella, a human girl who just wants to fit in, through lunch-time and science on her first day at a new school. His introduction (which felt long-delayed as the movie’s opening minutes ticked by) made some girls swoon. And, of course, there’s rival Jacob Black, Bella’s new friend from the Quileute tribe who appears to have already fallen in love with her. Jacob’s edginess toward Edward is the result of something more than jealousy – a set-up for the sequel, due to premiere later this year?

Why do so many people love “Twilight”? Why did they anticipate the movie so much? Reflecting on the mix of genres in “Twilight,” you can see a hint of horror, some school drama and plenty of romance. We can’t forget the mystery that surrounds the book as we try to figure out who and what Edward is (he isn’t immediately revealed as a vampire), what’s up with his aversion to Bella and why he is so certain that he is putting her in danger. The superhero powers used by Edward and his sister Alice draw on a supernatural mix of mind reading and future telling, and horror appears in the scary chase and conflicts among vampires. The book is stuck in the romance section, causing some to shy away from it, but I would describe it as more of a perfect mix of genres.

It’s true that the book and movie are both very romantic. However, those who have bothered to read the book, then see the movie know that there is action and mystery between every line. Some love seeing the movie’s fight scene between Edward and the hostile vampire James, while others are content merely to hear about it from Edward’s voice in the book.

“The mystery wasn’t really solved until the end,” said Amy Shannon, a Los Altos seventh-grader who was less than ecstatic with the movie. “Also, I thought that parts of the book were missing in the movie. Isn’t Jacob supposed to tell Bella the whole story of the Quileutes and who Edward might be?”

Others, like Savannah Swan, thought that it was just awesome to see “Twilight” on the big screen.

“I was so excited! It was great!” she enthused.

Others just consider the movie another part of the “Twilight” world. New shirts showing the whole Cullen vampire clan, Edward and Bella and quotes, have been created. People are buying collector’s packs with all four books. Meyer is soon to publish a guide to “Twilight.” The world is grabbing hold of “Twilight” and everyone is sinking their teeth into it. It may not be forbidden, but it’s one of the sweetest books out there.

Twilight” fans awaiting the next installment in the vampire saga from Stephenie Meyer might never see it — the author stopped working on her latest book “Midnight Sun” when the unfinished manuscript leaked online.

Meyer posted an explanation on her website, “I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on ‘Midnight Sun,’ so it is on hold indefinitely.” The author posted an incomplete draft on StephenieMeyer.com,”I’d rather my fans not read this version … the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting?”

A rep for the author confirms to New York Daily News, “Stephenie has no plans to move forward with ‘Midnight Sun’ at this time.” The novel would have been the fifth book in the “Twilight” series with sexy bloodsucker Edward Cullen as the narrator.

“Stephenie is working on something else at the moment,” the rep reveals. “But she hasn’t announced it yet. It isn’t ‘Twilight’-related. When she’s ready to reveal it, she will. This has been an intense three years for her, and currently she’s just focusing on being a writer.”

Filming for the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon” is scheduled to begin in March in Vancouver.

Robert Pattinson: I’m a Loner

Robert Pattinson admits he is having trouble getting used to being famous as he has always been “a loner.”

The actor, who shot to fame for playing vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight, says he likes being alone and has trouble dealing with crowds of people. “I’m a bit of a loner and not that good with dealing with loads of people. Most of the time, going out is a complete waste of time. I’d rather stay in and create something than go out,” Pattinson says.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old has kicked off the new year with a busy schedule. Pattinson’s new movie ‘Little Ashes’ is due out in March. Later that month he will begin filming the Twilight sequel New Moon.

NY Daily News: A Leak Puts The Bite on Twilight

“Twilight” fans waiting to read Stephenie Meyer’s latest vampire novel had better not hold their breath: the author is still pouting about her unfinished manuscript being leaked online — and hasn’t touched the book since.

“I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on ‘Midnight Sun,’ so it is on hold indefinitely,” Meyer wrote on her Web site, stepheniemeyer.com. However, she posted the incomplete draft on her own site, reasoning, “I’d rather my fans not read this version … the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting?”

To the chagrin of “Twilight” followers, Meyer has no further plans to resurrect the would-be juicy read. “Midnight Sun,” the fifth tome in the series, was being written from bloodsucking heartthrob Edward Cullen’s point of view.

“Nothing’s changed,” a rep for the author confirms to us. “Stephenie has no plans to move forward with ‘Midnight Sun’ at this time.”

But Meyer fanatics can anticipate an upcoming novel. “Stephenie is working on something else at the moment,” the flack reveals. “But she hasn’t announced it yet. It isn’t ‘Twilight’-related. When she’s ready to reveal it, she will. This has been an intense three years for her, and currently she’s just focusing on being a writer.”

As for how Meyer plans to protect her works in the future, her spokesperson says, “She’ll just have to be very selective about where she sends her manuscripts.”

While Edward Cullen may not get his time to shine in print, the man who portrays him on screen — British hottie Robert Pattinson — isn’t relying on Meyer’s writing skills for his income. R-Patz is taking on the role of a young Salvador Dali in “Little Ashes,” which comes complete with some steamy male-on-male scenes.

The film, which will hit theaters in March, is rated R for “sexual content, language and a brief disturbing image.” Of course, we can’t really imagine anything more disturbing than a vampire with teenage angst, either.

The Daily Beast: Breakout Stars of 2009–Taylor and Cam made the list!

Cam Gigandet:
Some teen-TV fans may remember Cam as the guest character on The O.C. responsible for killing off Mischa Barton, but he’s going to be known for much more than Marissa-cide after this year. Cam has a whopping seven movies in production for 2009—and those are just the ones that have been officially announced. After his breakout role as a pale vampire in last fall’s Twilight, Cam will appear in Pandorum (a thriller about a spaceship with Dennis Quaid), Five Star Day (a coming of age story with Jena Malone), and Kid Cannabis, among others.

Taylor Lautner:
After originating the role of Jacob Black in the original crazy successful teen-vampires-stare-and-brood Twilight, there was talk Taylor Lautner wouldn’t be cast in the sequel. Fortunately, the director was convinced and Lautner is bulking up to play the older role in the follow-up New Moon, which will be rushed into theaters this November. Robert Pattinson, watch your back. Teen girls, get your screaming pipes ready.

Taylor Lautner talks about New Moon

Now that Taylor Lautner has been confirmed for “New Moon,” I went back to my notes from my interview with the young star from the “Twilight” junket last fall in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Lautner plays Jacob Black, pal of heroine Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), in “Twilight.” In the second book, “New Moon,” Jacob begins turning into a werewolf. The transformation puts Bella between two loyalties: her boyfriend, Edward (Robert Pattinson) is a vampire, and vampires and werewolves are enemies.

Chris Weitz, who is directing the film version of “New Moon,” recently tapped Lautner for the sequel, after determining that the teen star would be convincing in the role. In “New Moon,” Jacob grows bigger and stronger as he transforms into werewolf. Lautner has been bulking up for months in preparation to play Jacob in the sequel.

“Jacob’s character gets so cool. It is so more in-depth in the rest of the series. When he turns into a werewolf it is like he has two separate personalities. When he’s himself he’s this nice outgoing guy and when he goes werewolf on you he’s super intense and Bella’s just blown away like ‘what is with this freak now,’” Lautner said in the interview.

Lautner said he was unfamiliar with Stephenie Meyer’s mega-best-selling “Twilight” books until he tried out for the role.

“I had not even heard about ‘Twilight’ until I auditioned for it and then as soon as I was cast I was like, what am I getting myself into? I was blown away and so incredibly excited,” he said.

Lautner received a great deal of support from “Twilight” fans, which undoubtedly helped him keep the role. Now, the excitement continues for the young star – and the fans who love him as Jacob.

New Moon Production Weekly–From A Twilight Mom

As a person who works in production I get these lovely news letters called Production Weekly. They list all upcoming filming projects… WELL guess what was listed… I admit I started jumping up and down. I took the phone numbers and addresses off to avoid crazy phone calls :-)

All is not well between demon-magnet Bella and Edward Cullen, her vampire Romeo. An innocent papercut at Edward’s house puts Bella in grave danger when various members of the Cullen family can barely resist their hunger at the smell of blood. The Cullens promptly leave town, afraid of endangering Edward’s beloved, and Bella sinks into an overwhelming depression. Months later, she finally emerges from her funk to rebuild her life, focusing on her friendship with besotted teen Jacob from the reservation. Bella’s unhealthy enthrallment to Edward leads her into dangerous and self-destructive behavior despite her new friends, and supernatural complications are bound to reappear. Bella’s being hunted by an evil vampire, and Jacob’s adolescent male rage turns out to be incipient lycanthropy: It seems many Quileute Indians become werewolves in thepresence of vampires, their natural enemies. Popstar Covers Twilight

Popstar Magazine is covering Twilight. There is an interview with Kelsey Dettman, who is creating the fan documentary, and the 2008 Celebrity Love Awards have been announced–Rob, Kristen, Stephenie, Taylor, Cam, Ashley and Kellan included. (Nominations for 2009 are now open as well.) Here’s a bit of the Award explanation:

PopStar runs an annual contest each year called the Celebrity Love Awards. Although the rules may differ for each year, one thing always remains the same: By writing letters to your favorite celebrities, you officially nominate them as one of the most loved celebrities for that year.

The Celebrity Love Awards is an annual contest that is open from January 1 to December 31. At the end of the year, we tally up the total number of letters each celebrity has received and announce which celebrities were the most loved. We then mail all of those letters to the stars directly.
